Why We Rebuilt Event Horizon Tickets — Here’s What It Means If You’re Putting On Events
When we started Event Horizon Tickets, the idea was simple: a ticketing platform that actually works for independent promoters, rather than treating them as an afterthought to the consumer experience.
Free for promoters. Human support. A genuine understanding of the kind of events we work with — electronic music, live arts, independent culture. Not the mainstream, not the stadium circuit. The stuff that takes real effort to put on and real community to sustain.
That ethos is unchanged. But as we’ve grown, we’ve built a lot — and the old site wasn’t doing a great job of showing it. So we rebuilt it. New platform, new look, and a new home: www.ehtickets.com.
Why www.ehtickets.com?
It’s a small change that makes a meaningful difference in practice.
When you’re promoting an event, every character counts. Flyers, social posts, stories, posters — you want people to actually type or tap the URL, not give up halfway through. eventhorizontickets.co.uk is a mouthful. ehtickets.com isn’t.
It’s shorter, cleaner, and easier to put anywhere — a caption, a bio link, a printed flyer, a WhatsApp message to your group chat. Same platform, same team, same ethos. Just a URL that doesn’t require a second breath.
A dashboard built for how you actually work
One of the things we kept hearing from promoters was that reporting felt fragmented. Checking sales here, pulling data there, cobbling together a picture of how an event was performing.
The new promoter dashboard fixes that. It’s a single hub — live sales data, revenue tracking, event analytics, and your event submission workflow, all in one place. It’s been built specifically for independent promoters, not adapted from a generic template. Which means it reflects the way you actually think about your events, not the way a corporate product team assumed you might.
Door management that doesn’t slow you down
The EH Tickets scanning app has been part of our offering for a while, but it deserves more airtime than it gets.
On the night of an event, the door is where everything can go right or wrong very quickly. Our app puts check-in management in your pocket — fast, reliable, and easy to hand to a member of your door team without a lengthy briefing. It keeps queues moving, reduces the margin for error, and means your team isn’t squinting at a spreadsheet at 10pm on a Saturday.
Less door chaos. More focus on the event itself.
Marketing support that actually sells tickets
Listing an event on a platform and hoping people find it isn’t a strategy. We’ve never pretended it is.
Our marketing support is built around social media and paid advertising — specifically Facebook and Instagram, where the audiences for the kinds of events we work with are most active. That means paid ad management, custom audience targeting built around your event’s genre and geography, and organic social support alongside it.
The goal is to get your event in front of people who are genuinely likely to come — not just anyone with an internet connection and a passing interest in going out.
Instalment plans — better for buyers, better for you
We’ve introduced instalment plans for ticket buyers on eligible events, and while the primary benefit is obviously for the person buying the ticket, it matters to promoters too.
Price resistance is one of the most common reasons someone decides not to buy. When the cost can be spread over time, that barrier drops — and conversion goes up. More buyers completing the purchase. Less drop-off at the moment of decision.
For events with higher ticket prices or long lead times between sale and the event date, it can make a meaningful difference to your final numbers.
Free for promoters. That’s not changing.
It bears repeating: Event Horizon Tickets is free to use for promoters. No setup fees, no monthly subscription, no percentage taken from your revenue. Our booking fee is passed to the customer at the point of purchase.
You keep what you earn. That’s how it’s always worked, and that’s not changing with the new site — or the new URL.
